Doncaster Road (N.side): The Plough Inn (View 2)

Image

The Plough Inn was at number 6 Doncaster Road, a distinctive (the frontage painted white/cream) part of a Victorian terraced area at the edge of town. This image dates from the 1960s when Alex Wallace was landlord. It had 3 bays and two storeys with the name 'Plough Inn' painted at the roof line and 'Stones Ales' over the central doorway. Pedestrians on the pavement appear to be waiting for a bus and add interest to the scene.
