Doncaster Road (N.side): Contractors' Sales (Nos 8 to 14) (view 1)

Contractors' Sales (building materials) occupied 8-14 (stone-fronted premises on the left of the c.1961 image) Doncaster Road from the early 1950s (and then rebuiltin 1967). Next door a modern-looking shop – Joseph Peck Ltd – functioned from 1958-75 and was previously the site of the Central Hall (billiards).
