Eldon Street/Market area: Miners' demo

Across Eldon Street, in the market area, several thousand Yorkshire miners assemble as part of their annual 'demonstration'. One of their banners can be clearly seen, as can a policeman on his white horse, keeping the crowd away from the marching miners. This image from Lloyds News dates from about 1890.
