Pickering Estates Ltd (estate agents) occupied this site from 1963-73, this image dating from 1966. From the window it appears that they were also insurance brokers. The shop has a traditional frontage, probably of Edwardian origin. Next door (right) was Bailey & son's 'chocolat box' (and tobacconist) and to the left of Pickerings stood The Magnet public house.
