Market Hill : E.side: Military parade

Image

This interesting photograph appears to to show a military parade of cavalry proceeeding down Market Hill, buildings on the east side of the street in the background, particularly Brady's drapery emporium. The broken entrance area of the Arcade is also visible, suggesting a date in the 1890s, so the military parade may well be before the start of the Boer War in 1899. The number of spectators appear to be sparse, certainly at the market side of the street.
