Market Hill: N.side: Hudson - Booker – Krakauer
This image relates to the long gone north/top side of Market Hill, showing several old shops prior to their demolition: Krakaur was a jeweller, present at number 8 from 1923-1933; next door at number 6 several business had short tenures in the 1920s, including Fieldsend, Maudsley and Ford & Hutchinson. The word 'ANTIQUES' enblazoned on the frontage may refer to the later occupation of the furniture dealer George Hudson (1932-33); Harry Booker's business can also be seen at number 2/4, a well known car dealer. The large building on the extreme left was actually the start of Shambles Street, number 1, also occupied by George Hudson.
