Market Hill : W.side: L&G Mode – Curry's

Image

New frontages are evident in this photograph of the lower west side of Market Hill, notably L&G Modes and Lloyds Bank. Lloyds had established their bank here in 1963, formely used by Reynolds & Wadsworths; Modes (ladies fashions) occupied these premises from 1961-75 (previously also part of Reynolds & Wadsworth, ironmongery). Reynolds & Wadsworths's frontage also has a new appearance, at number 15, here from 1963-67. Just in view is Curry's (elecrical goods), here from 1951 until rebuilding in 1969/70. This is a 1960s image, note the Churchill poster
