Market Street: Snowdens Plumbers

Image

Snowdens' plumbing emporium at 39 Market Street was clearly a flourishing business, if based on the staff displayed outside the building in about 1910.: 14 employees including a couple of boys. The business was capable of providing and installing a variety of 'sanitary' ware, glass, and had a sign writing facility. Snowden & Son functioned here from 1894-1941, the building then converting for usage as an Arts & Craft shop, until 1962.
