New Street (view 28) (Hudson's)

Image

Would you like measuring for a suit sir? The widow displays of some of our modern-day shops lack the flair and care of those in earlier times. Here we can see an excellent example: Hadley Hudson was a tailor and costumier, the later a wonderful term for 'extending' his wares and reputation. Hadley and his wife are probably pictured at the entrance, number 2 New Street, in about 1900. They were there until 1908, succeeded by Hadwen's. Everything is neatly arranged and labelled.
