New Street (view 61) (shops 17-27)
An interesting general view of shops 27 (closest to the camera) to 17, in 1960. At 25 was Dewhurst the butchers, here from 1950; and at 27 the BBCS wallpaper store. Wallpaper usage for interiors was very common at this time, accounting for the number of shops of this type in the town.
