New Street (view 71) (Pall Mall & Co-op)

Image

The considerable urban-industrial impact of the central BBCS Co-operative buildings are evident in this c.1950s view looking across towards Pall Mall from upper New Street. Pall Mall was a ball game played in London and elsewhere during the 17th century, the name used for what became the well known London Street.
