The Phillips Furnishing Store was establishe at 11/13 New Street in 1962, a few years before this image was taken. Next door at number 9 was Robinson Rentals, specialising in tvs. Many people preferred to rent televisions at this time as they could obtain the latest set along with any repair costs as part of the deal.
