Queen Street: (view 6)

Image

Another early c.1900 view of Queen Street that can be compared with the previous image (EGT092). Here, the shops appear a little sharper in focus (as it is a postcard by Lamb of Barnsley, who produced excellent quaility images) and the scene is interesting because of the presence of people walking across the street and along the pavements. The women wearing shawls and the man wearing his working apron are notable.
