Peel Square (13) North side : White Hart Hotel

Image

The White Hart Hotel in about 1960. The building dates from the 1820s, replacing the Six Ringers Inn and always had an impressive frontage extending to three floors and an attic rooms where servants may have lived. Walter Collins was the landlord in the early 1960s. The pub name 'White Hart' is from the coat arms of Richard II and is a common signage name, often depicted by the image of a deer.
