Peel Square (17) South side : British Colonial & Service Tailoring (view 1)
Two distinctive but contrasting buildings occupied numbers 2 and 4 in 1960, just after the entrance to Market Street. At 2 was the British Colonial Footwear store, in a purpose-built structure dating from the early 1930s. Next to it at 4 was Service Tailoring, another long-established company in business here from the 1920s. Service Tailoring occupied a much older building dating from the end of the First World War when Cooke the corn miller was in residence.
