Peel Square (31) : North side : Clarkson's

Clarkson's were high-class confectioners, trading at number 7 from 1896 to 1916. This image may date from the very early years of their business, judging by the fashions of the ladies. Hovis bread and Cadbury's chocolate were the chief and most popular brand names advertised in the widows.
