Peel Street (15) : North side : Jackson's Stores

Image

Jackson's Stores (furnishers) was the most prominent business fronting this lower part of Peel Street, a long-established firm going back to 1939 on this site, occupying 13-17. It was also present in a smaller scale, at 13, from 1908. The main buildings here are clearly Victorian in age and once served Barnsley agricultural function.; and have a rather grand appearance, especially above ground level away from the shop frontage.
