Peel Street (20) : North side : Lipton's Supermarket
The unmistakable mid 1960s frontage of Lipton's Supermarket created a fresh feel to the street, though a contrasting one to the Victorian upper floors above Rock the chemist's shop. This image dates from shortly after the opening of Liptons in 1966. The parked Triumph Herald helps confirm the date and adds to the period setting.
