Pitt Street (14) : South : Cottages Nos 20-26

Image

This interesting group of 19th-century cottages are typical of many that existed in Barnsley. Reached by flights of steps in front of the street, and the entrances having wrought iron supporting rails, they are sturdily built, faced with local stone frontages and half-hipped roofs. Cellars are also evident, see the partly obscured windows at ground levels.
