Queen Street: Three Cranes Hotel (view 2)

Image

Looking along Queen Street towards May Day Green, the Three Cranes Hotel seen on the left of the image: Cranes (birds) were fairly rare pub and inn signs: biblically, they represented vigilance, loyalty and an upright life: a crane is a watchful bird, often standing on one leg not unlike an heron.
