Sheffield Road (West side) : Shepherd Newsagents

At 159, J. Shepherd's newsagent's shop was a prominent feature on this upper side of the road. Previously a stationers, the shop had been in business from 195- to 1963. The awning, dual windows and central entrance door made it stand out, and note the personal weigh scales placed just before Mower's butcher's shop.
