Sheffield Road (East side) : Harry Glass/Commercial Exchange

In 1966 at 40/42 Sheffield Road was the Commercial Exchange store which had a tall wide frontage frontage higher up from the Manx Arms. The parked Ford Anglia outside Harry Glass's woodworkers'/timber shop provides a further period feel to this image. After 1977 the Commercial Exchange functioned as Barnsley Hi Fi Centre.
