May Day Green: Paige/Collier/Temple 1960s
The three featured clothing shops are in the old pre-development part of May Day Green, pictured in the 1960s. Paige (ladies' gowns) functioned from 1949-1975; Collier's from 1957-60 here; and Temples from 1961-1969. Just beyond the Burlington Arcade stood the landmark pub The Cross Keys Hotel, at the side of the fish market.
