May Day Green: The Wellington Hotel c.1960

The Wellington Hotel was a substantial 7-bay, stone-faced building, with 3 storeys, facing May day Green. It was demolished in 1962, Joseph Wilkinson being its last licensee. The building dated from the 1860s but it appears to have functioned in a smaller form a decade or so earlier.
