May Day Green: Market Inn: 1960s (view 2)
This photograph is useful as it shows how the frontage of the Market Inn curved its way towards the main road and level crossing, the main entrance now clearly in view. Plenty of people add interest to the scene including a an on-duty policeman. The 'Oakwell Ales' signage is also typical of the period, another Barnsley Brewery reminder. A summer image perhaps: note the short-sleeved man leant casually by the doorway.
