Wellington Street (east side) : Salvation Army Citadel

Image

The Salvation Army Citadel (number 28-30), completed in c.1896, facing Castlereagh Street, was a distinctive element on this side of the street, the use of brick, plus its tall windows, wide double doors and castellated upper storey contributing to the appearance. This image dates from about 1960.
