Queen Street: South side: Barclays/Rediffusion/Neville Reed: 1969

Image

Numbers 21 to 17 Queen Street in 1969: the Barclays bank building was in existence here (21) from about 1930 (to 1988), and purpose-built; the Rediffusion tv rental shop from 1965-1985 (19) but the Neville Reed menswear/tailors shop (17) only existed here from 1968-69, replasced by John Temple. The Rediffusion/Temple facades have typical 1960s features, contrasting with neighbouring businesses.
