Peel Square (6) South side : Old Royal Oak (view 2)
Another interesting view of the Old Royal Oak. As can be seen aclothing shop occupied the upper part of the original building and a small retail shop was attached to the lower part. The children at the front of the photograph add interest to the Edwardian scene, and the widow boxes with flowers indicate that the tenants had some pride in the establishment even at this late stage, not long before demolotion.
