Racecommon Road : West : Shaw Inn
The Shaw Inn, a Whitbread house, was a purpose-built public house established in the 1860s and serving millworkers and locals. Two storeys and five bays, it was of considerable proportions, occupying the corner of Shaw Lane. Thomas Cooper was landlord from 1965-1971, and then Len Wilson (1971-72).
