Shambles Street : (South side) : The Old Globe Inn (1)
The Old Globe Inn stood near the entry/entrance into the Market Place from Shambles Street, at number 10/12, close to the later Exchange Building/Corn Exchange. Another very ancient Barnsley eating and drinking establishment but quite tall in comparison to the others, extending to three or four storeys. Once a popular and convenient eating place on market and fair days. You could even try a fine cigar there according to part of the signage.
