Wellington Street (west side) : Shakespeare Hotel (2)
This further image showing the Shakespeare Hotel is useful as it shows the far gable end of the building, confirming in large letters that it was a Barnsley Brewery house. The Gothic-style lettering used for the hotel name is perhaps a nod towards Stratford, though not really in context with the Shakespearean era.
